Saturday

We spent part of the day moving the chickens. Clayton and Philip have been working on a bigger chicken coop for them and finished this morning. They were not thrilled with the move. They are staying in one corner of their new home, all huddled up. The picture is of Clayton's biggest rooster. It was only 100 here today, with a heat index of 114. So what do we do? Build not one, but two fires outside. We decided to burn some more of the wonderful accessories left here at Green Acres when we bought it. Note: when you buy something out of foreclosure, people only take the stuff they want. They leave EVERYTHING else, couches, clothes, junk appliances, old tires. Bro-in-law dug us a deep pit to burn stuff, it is now over half full. But we have found another "hole" in the ground. It was covered with a grate and had a light bulb on a chain run down in it. We have no idea what it is yet, but I'm sure I can find something to put in it!
