Baptist entertainment

A lot of people think there is nothing to do in Arkansas. A lot of people think us Baptists don't know how to have fun. I would just like to say they are wrong on both accounts. We had a Baptist church fellowship here in Arkansas last night and did what we do best. We ate. Fish. Catfish if I need to point that out to anyone who thinks there is another kind of fish. FRIED. The only way we serve it in the South. And it was really, really good. Along with the fried hushpuppies, fried pickles, fried jalapenos stuffed with cheese, fried cheese sticks, fried fries, you get the idea. Yes, we did have vegetables that were (gasp) actually NOT fried. That would be slaw and onions. Topped off with ice cream for dessert. Doesn't get any better than that. Now, today, we get to eat, again, at MIL's house. A nephew is turning 18. Wonder what she will have? For family gatherings, we usually do not fry everything. Too many people. So usually it is grilled or hams. Yes, that is plural. There are quite a few of us. Big family by Arkansas standards but as I know from some of my bloggy friends, not by Utah standards:).

Bible verse for today: Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10
